Sock Hop is coming!

Sock Hop is coming April 20 from 6-9:30 pm at the Denver Merchandise Mart (58th and I-25). Tickets are available in advance (they are not available at the door). Holiday Staff Appreciation Event

Hello JA families! The PTO Hospitality Committee is hosting a Holiday Staff Appreciation Event on Monday, December 18. Our theme is “If you give a Teacher a Cookie…” Your contribution to the list of goodies below is well-appreciated!

Items should be delivered to the teacher’s lounge no later than 7am on the day of the event.

In addition, please look for a little mouse coming soon to a Monday folder near you, a chance for your child to be creative and “sweet!” We’ll use them to decorate the lounge on event day.

Dave and Buster Power Card orders due Nov 30!

Get a start on holiday shopping and order Dave and Busters Power Cards as gifts for family, friends, and coworkers. Order for yourself and the kids to keep them busy over winter break. Power cards NEVER expire.

JA keeps 50% of all sales for Outdoor Lab 2018. You must submit payment with the order form (Cash/Check made out to JA PTO).

Orders are due November 30th and will be delivered before Winter Break.

Fun Run is tomorrow!

The Jefferson Academy Charter School Fun Run is tomorrow! Thank you to all our families who have been working hard to raise funds for our school. We truly appreciate your support!

We Want Your Candy for the Troops!

PTO is working with Operation Gratitude to host a Halloween Candy collection drive. Your unwanted treats will be sent to our deployed military and first responders. Collection bins are located inside of both the east and west entrances from now until Nov. 7.  Letters or drawings also appreciated, as well as toothbrushes/toothpaste.


Boosterthon Fun Run Kick Off

Parents! Our Fun Run program is finally here! We kicked off the program today with an awesome Pep Rally to get our students fired up to help Jefferson Academy Elem. Please support us by asking friends and family to pledge your child for the Fun Run. (Remember, students will run 30-35 laps.) Enter all pledges at FUNRUN.COM, and your student will be rewarded the very next day. Plus, your student will receive a FREE prize just for being registered on funrun.com!
PTO supports classroom parties, field trips (both in-house and away), Mileage Club, science and technology tools for classes, teacher support, special events like Sock Hop and Trick or Treat Street, and much more!

Volunteers needed for JA Teacher’s Conference Lunch

The hospitality committee will be providing a soup and salad bar lunch for our teachers during conferences on Wednesday, October 11th.   We would love your help in providing food items for this event.  We greatly appreciate your help in making this event a success. Remember all of your time shopping, cooking, and delivering foods counts toward your volunteer hours.

Please note*  We DO NOT have school this day due to parent teacher conferences.  Please keep this in mind when signing up for your items. You can drop off items early (Monday or Tuesday) and put in the fridge if needed. Please label all items (TEACHER CONFERENCE LUNCH).

Please deliver all items to the staff/teacher lounge (in the 4th grade hallway).  All items should be delivered no later than 11 am on Wednesday October 11th.

Volunteers needed for Staff Appreciation Breakfasts

Hospitality needs you! They are currently looking to fill our monthly breakfast grade leads. As a lead you will take on the coordinating of decor, theme, money, food and donations from the fellow families in your grade. We will assist you in the beginning my sending reminder emails, providing updated forms for the Monday folders ect…
Remember all your time shopping, cooking, setting up/cleaning up for events, decorating for events, etc all counts toward your volunteer hours.
The hospitality committee organizes many fun events which include monthly grade sponsored staff breakfasts, conference lunches, Staff Appreciation day in December and Staff Appreciation week in May.  We try to spoil the teachers and let them know how much we appreciate all they do for our children.

We are looking for folks to help out in the lunchrooms. There are signups for one hour shifts for the first week of school. Please note this is one of the volunteer activities that you can bring your younger children with you. Cafeteria is K-3, and 4-6 use the Commons.
